you'll actually keep.

MyPetLogger is the iOS app for every companion in your home — dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, ferrets, hamsters and the rest. An obsessively polished place to keep every vaccine, every walk, every vet visit, every milestone. It lives on your iPhone. Nowhere else. No accounts. No tracking. No noise.

Summary tab showing today's overview

Pet apps are usually one of two things: a glorified contact list for one species, or a data vacuum selling your pet's birthday to an ad broker. We wanted neither. MyPetLogger is a calm, private, deeply native iOS app built around a single idea — the person who loves your pet the most is you, and the place to remember their life should feel like home, whether they bark, purr, chirp, or hop.

One home for every companion

Every pet in your family, beautifully organised.

Dogs. Cats. Birds. Rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, guinea pigs — the whole small-animal lineup. Each pet gets a rich profile: species, breed, colours, markings, microchip, sex, date of birth, photo, notes. The picker knows 100+ dog breeds, 40+ cat breeds, 34 bird species and 44 small-animal breeds — with species-specific colours and a custom-entry fallback for the truly unique.

  • Pinned pets surface first across every screen
  • Built-in camera and square cropper for portraits
  • One-photo-per-pet simplicity — no noisy galleries
Pet list
A chart, not a shoebox

Medical records that stop being scattered.

Weight, vaccinations, medications, vet visits, grooming, surgery, allergies, deworming, flea treatment — MyPetLogger gives each its own form, its own list, and its own "next due" countdown. No more hunting paper, no more screenshots buried in your camera roll, no more "wait, when was her last rabies shot?"

  • Next-due dates with overdue alerts on the Summary tab
  • Medication schedules with start, end, and dosage
  • Weight history with units that respect your locale
  • PDF export to share with any vet, anywhere

Go for a walk

Walk tracking, done the native way.

Pick the pets you're walking with. Choose a distance goal, a time goal, or just set out free. The Live Activity rides on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, the route draws itself across a MapKit trail, and when you finish, the workout goes straight to Apple Health — with every pet's name attached as workout metadata.

  • Live Activity + Dynamic Island with elapsed time and progress
  • Pause and resume without polluting your stats
  • Apple Health sync as a proper HKWorkout with GPS route
  • "Hey Siri, start a walk in MyPetLogger"

Your day at a glance

A Summary screen that's actually useful.

Open the app and see it all — a time-aware greeting, the count of overdue items, what's coming up in the next 30 days across every pet, and your recent activity log. Quick Actions sit a tap away: log a weight, record a dose, start a vet visit, add a vaccination, begin a walk. Same actions live in the Home Screen widget, on your Apple Watch, and in Siri.

  • Overdue banner keeps you honest
  • Quick Actions grid with five one-tap workflows
  • Upcoming + Recent across every pet, sorted by date
  • Ambient gradient that adapts to light and dark

The map you need in an emergency

Nearby vets, parks, spas — eleven categories, one search.

A single glass-bar search that accepts cities, addresses, and post codes from anywhere in the world. Eleven categories — Vet Clinics, Emergency Vets, Pet Stores, Pet Spas, Pet Training, Hotels that welcome pets, Dog Parks, Off-leash Areas, Shelters, and more. Directions open in your preferred maps app — Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze. Call, text, or visit a website straight from the location card.

  • Live autocomplete with MKLocalSearchCompleter
  • "Search this area" pill when you pan the map
  • Liquid Glass filter popover, interactive until you tap away

For serious breeders

A Breeder Toolkit, if you need one.

Turn on one toggle and the app grows a fifth tab: Litters, Heat Cycles, Breeding Records, Health Clearances, Offspring tracking, Puppy/Kitten timelines. Designed with the editorial calm of the rest of the app — no spreadsheets, no screaming red tables. Off by default, because most people don't need it.

  • Heat cycle predictions and breeding windows
  • Per-offspring records with parents linked back
  • Clearances tagged with expiration and certifier

Deeply native

Every Apple surface, used the right way.

We didn't port a cross-platform framework. We built MyPetLogger as a SwiftUI app for the Apple ecosystem, and we used every corner of it.

Apple Watch

A watchOS companion with per-pet glance cards for your next vaccine and next dose, a Digital-Crown weight dial, one-tap dose logging, and two complications for every accessory family. Syncs over WatchConnectivity, one-way-read, one-way-write.

Widgets & Dynamic Island

Home Screen Quick Actions widget deep-links into the exact same sheets the Summary tab opens. The Walks Live Activity renders a full Dynamic Island — compact, expanded, minimal — with elapsed time, distance, and a progress bar.

Siri & Shortcuts

Five App Intents — Log Weight, Log Medication, New Vet Visit, Add Vaccination, Start Walk — each accepting an optional pet parameter. Build automations, trigger from Focus modes, or just say it out loud.

The privacy pledge

Your pet's life is none of our business.

"We never wanted to build a company that sold data about pets. So we didn't. MyPetLogger has no accounts, no servers of ours, no analytics looking over your shoulder. Your pet's records live on your iPhone, and if you turn on iCloud, they live in your own private iCloud. That's the whole story."

No accounts.

Open the app and start. No email, no password, no onboarding maze.

No servers of ours.

iCloud sync is Apple-to-you. We aren't in the middle and we can't read it.

No tracking.

We don't sell your data. We don't have it. We don't want it.

Why we built this

A note from the developer.

I had been meaning to organise my dogs' vaccination cards for about three years. The paperwork lived in a folder on my desk, a second folder in a drawer, a Google Drive with conflicting filenames, three notes on my phone, and my memory — which was the least reliable archive of the five. Every time I went to the vet, I re-discovered the same facts, printed the same printouts, and re-wrote the same dates on the same forms.

The apps I found either wanted me to make an account, or wanted to show me ads for kibble, or wanted to sell me a subscription for a feature that should have been basic. None of them felt like the kind of thing you'd open on a quiet Sunday and be glad to sit with for ten minutes.

So I built MyPetLogger — for myself first, and for anyone who's ever stood at a vet's counter thumbing through a phone trying to find the exact word "Bordetella." It's SwiftUI top to bottom. It uses the Apple frameworks the way they want to be used. It's translated into nine languages. It syncs through your iCloud, not ours. And it's free up to two pets — not as a trial, but as a permanent tier, because most households really do have one or two companions and they deserve a good home too.

If you try it and it feels right, send a note. If it feels wrong, send a louder one. This app gets better because people tell me what they need.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Which pets does it support?
All of them. Dogs and cats are first-class citizens, but the species picker also covers birds, rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, reptiles, fish, and a free-text fallback for anything truly unusual. Each species gets its own breed list, colour palette, and icon — and every pet, regardless of species, gets the full medical timeline, reminders, and quick actions.
Is there an Android version?
Not today. MyPetLogger is built in SwiftUI to feel deeply native on Apple's platforms — Live Activities, Dynamic Island, Siri Intents, HealthKit, WatchConnectivity. We'd rather do one platform well than two platforms badly.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no email, no password. Open the app and start. If you turn on iCloud sync, your records move between your own devices through your own Apple ID — never through us.
What do you actually know about me?
Almost nothing. We can see anonymous crash reports if you've opted into Apple's analytics, and we see aggregate download counts from the App Store. We have no database of users, no list of pet names, no way to contact you unless you email us first.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Premium unlocks full PDF export per pet — perfect for a new vet, an insurance claim, or just a keepsake. The data itself lives in Core Data on-device, so you're never locked in.
What happens if I cancel Premium?
Your data is yours forever. If you drop back to the Free tier, existing pets above the two-pet limit remain visible and editable, but you'll need to remove one before adding a new one.
Do you use ads?
Free users see occasional banners and an interstitial after every third log entry. Paid users — Ad-Free, Premium, Lifetime — see zero ads, ever. Ads never appear inside log forms or on the Map tab.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. iPad gets the same tab bar as iPhone via SwiftUI's sidebar-adaptable TabView, so every screen is reachable and the layout expands gracefully.
Is there a web app?
No, and there won't be. "Web app" means "data on our servers," and our data is on your phone. If we ever made one, this page would be different.
